So you've decided it's time for a new computer. Maybe it's your first. Perhaps you need an extra one. Or is your old faithful one just getting a bit left behind? If you definitely want a laptop, then I'm afraid I can't build one of those for you, (but I can advise you about your buying decision). But there are still many good reasons for buying a traditional desktop (see my WHICH PC page to help you choose). So why not let me build it for you?

I'll be honest, it'll probably cost a little more than the deal you could get at a large retailer. It won't come with "extra" software either, although you may not need or want that anyway. But it won't be vastly more expensive either, and I think when you look at the whole package, especially the warranty, service and delivery aspect of it, you'll maybe see that it's actually good value. See below for what your money gets you:

• Meeting (in person, phone, e-mail) to discuss your requirements with as much or as little advice and input on the specification from me as you want.
• PC built to your exact specification.
• "Hidden" components (the ones they don't tell you the make of, e.g. power supply), are often better quality than fitted by the big names.
• Your choice of case (colour, size, style etc). Don't get stuck with one that doesn't fit your space!
• THOROUGHLY tested for a decent amount of time - not just switched on to see if it works!
• Delivered and set up at mutually agreed time.
• Full set up in your home, transfer of your files and folders if required, demonstration of features.
• 7 days trial. 12 months onsite parts and labour warranty, with longer parts warranty on those components that come with it (e.g motherboard, CPU usually have 3yrs warranty).
• Advice for the price of a phone call from the man who built it, not a call centre half-way around the world.
