Something you can't do with Windows?
Try using the Help and Support feature in Windows, accessible from the Start Menu. This contains lots of FAQs and walks you through solutions to common problems. It certainly isn't the answer to everything, but it is a good starting point when you haven't a clue.

Tuition

If there's something in particular that you don't understand or don't know how to do then I'm usually happy to demonstrate or explain it. Likewise, if for example you want to install some software or try an operation that you are unfamiliar with and aren't quite sure or confident, then I can come and assist you and be there should it go wrong, or indeed the other way round - you can watch me do it and learn! So please do ask.

If you want basic tuition in using a computer then I usually suggest trying your local college, library or even community centres. These often host classes for beginners and those with a little more experience for very reasonable fees, or sometimes even free, and are well worth enquiring about. There are also lots of good books out there, and lots of good stuff online. But there are many reasons why this may not be for you.

Maybe you can't get to a college course because their times don't suit you. Possibly you really need someone who can work alongside you at your pace and answer your questions. It's true that having somebody to actually show you can beat hours of frustration when you 'just don't get it'! In that case get in touch, and I'll work with you to help you achieve what you want in whatever way and at whatever speed is best for you.

Advice

Who can you trust for advice on all things IT? I work for myself and don't have to answer to anybody else except the customer. I earn no commision from "recommending" certain products. I have no targets to meet for sales or incentives to push you into buying "extras". So any advice I give you is totally independent and based only what I think is best for you. So, if I happen to be within earshot, ask away!

Want an hour or so of my time to advise you on a specific topic, say online security, upgrading your computer or whatever? I'm quite happy to do that for a small fee. And if it helps you to purchase the right product instead of the wrong one you could well save money in the long run. You'll find me quite happy to pass on my knowledge chatting to you, in fact I love helping people out this way so much you may have trouble stopping me when I get going! But I'll always make sure you understand what I'm saying, and not leave you more confused than when I started... trust me!
